Dr. Sreeja is a SERB National Post-doctoral fellow (NPDF) in Prof. G.S. Sailaja’s team at the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology since February 2021. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biochemistry with good academic records. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. C.K.K. Nair, where her research focused on solid-tumor hypoxia targeting therapeutic system. Then she joined Prof. Sailaja’s group in 2018 as Post-doctoral fellow and focused on the development of polymer-based biomaterials for bone tissue regeneration and a few academic activities in the department. She has been awarded the prestigious SERB-NPDF position in the same group in 2021. She presently aims on understanding the mechanism of osteogenesis in surface-functionalized biodegradable polymers. She is a life member of the Society of Biomaterials and Artificial Organs (SBAO), India.
